Second day of County Championships was postponed to today.  All I did was long jump.  I started out crappy with a 17' 10.5" or something and it got crappier to a 17' 5" or something.  They were so bad, I stopped listening before the fractions of inches.  Then I figured that since I've been practicing triple jump so much and getting out, that I probably wasn't getting up enough.  And sure enough, when I jumped up and tried to hang for a bit longer, I jumped 18' 11".  It's not a PR, but I was satisfied with it.  Still, that's 21st in the county, which is pretty low, considering I was 7th for triple jump.  I dunno, but I think that a lot of good triple jumpers tend to not be as good in long jump.  Maybe that's just an oversimplification and a bad excuse for my lack of skill in long jump.

Ha, funny story, or not so funny I guess. My family decided they had too much going on this weekend to leave. I have a math test, my brother has soccer tryouts and my dad is going fishing. Have fun in Cleavland without me,I know it won't be the same and you'll miss me so much, but try to be strong. LOL. I will be at the band dinner, though. =D

Oh yeah, good job in triple jump and don't get too upset with your long jup, you're just distracted by Cleavland!

Your ability to realize why you weren't doing as well as you liked for long jump and being able to fix it is what really counts. You can only improve from here--though triple jump will continue to be your cup of tea.

Is there a big difference between long jump and triple jump as there is, say, between sprinting and long distance?
